Tidal bores are one of nature’s wonders, and are waves that travel upstream against the river flow on the highest tides. This creates great photographic opportunities, not just for the tidal bore itself, but the wading birds sometimes startled into flight. Tidal bores occur on about 20 rivers around the UK and these photographs show a selection.
